Manual Accounts Payable (AP) processes are inefficient, insecure, and incredibly costly to an organization. Yet, many AP departments are still using manual steps throughout their department. Handling invoices on paper mean documents must be kept at a physical storage location and staff must physically retrieve files in response to an audit.

The AP team manages thousands of individual documents and transactions daily and responds to audit requests for both internal and external customers. Due to manual processes, the department was plagued with an excess of paper documents requiring a significant portion of the staff’s time. Preparing for audits was frustrating due to the time it took to track down requested documents. Once their paper files began to overflow the physical office space, department staff knew it was time to start looking for an electronic document management solution.

The AP Department staff worked through Digitech Systems reseller, SOURCECORP Boston, to implement ImageSilo^®, a cloud-based document management system, to electronically manage their records. The new system has lead to a drastic increase in morale and productivity, has allowed them to eliminate physical document storage, and gives them more room for patient care.
