Digitech Systems releases the new PaperVision® Enterprise WorkFlow Module
Greenwood Village, CO —November 1, 2002 — Digitech Systems announced today the release of the new PaperVision® Enterprise WorkFlow module, a fully integrated component of PaperVision Enterprise, Digitech Systems’s newest enterprise-wide document management application. Together these products allow users to automate business information processes through an easy-to-use, highly customizable interface.
PaperVision Enterprise WorkFlow is a separately licensed component of the PaperVision Enterprise suite. As a server component, existing PaperVision Enterprise concurrent licenses are extended full WorkFlow capabilities at no additional charge. WorkFlow definitions, management and monitoring are easily accomplished through the PaperVision Administration Console. Commenting on the current state of the WorkFlow market, Scott Matthews, Chairman and Chief Technology Officer said, “From the start we believed that this shouldn’t have to be so hard and it shouldn’t have to cost so much.”
Consulting the WorkFlow Management Coalition (WfMC) and other sources, Digitech Systems thoroughly researched the current industry terms, conditions and processes as part of its concerted simplification effort. Using a simple, “drag and drop” icon-based interface, non-technical users can create real-world WorkFlow definitions including worksteps, tasks involved in each workstep, various pre- and post-conditions and select appropriate workstep participants. Additionally, for those applications requiring additional customization, WorkFlow offers standard programming interfaces that can launch external applications, run scripted operations, and raise COM events, complete with transmitting appropriate user-defined information when external events are completed.
Extensive, detailed audit trails report all information pertaining to each and every WorkFlow instance. Furthermore, specific WorkFlow instances can be viewed by their entire history from beginning to end, chronicling each step as it actually occurred. In addition, information pertaining to current, active WorkFlow instances are compiled in WorkFlow Status reports before being archived as the WorkFlow completes. As with other Digitech Systems software, WorkFlow design and management has been dramatically simplified!
